MAC Goes to Town at the Denver Grand Prix

The build-up to the Grand Prix of Denver started with a call from Chris Tindol of Tindol Motorsports. Tindol Motorsports is a SPEED World Challenge Touring Car Championship team that fields 3 cars in the series. Chris called to arrange for dyno time to fine tune for altitude. Of course, we said come on in, and scheduled a block of dyno time for Tuesday before the 8/11-8/13 event. We have pictures of their dyno sessions, and race pictures, where Tindol driver Charles Espenlaub qualified 10th and finished 5th - a strong finish for a strong team. MAC was invited to attend the race, and the Tindol Motorsports paddock, to enjoy raceday.
We also have some very exclusive photos of the Champcar race, courtesy of a very fine photographer, Jon Gowriluk. Jon joined the MAC crew to enjoy the race, and snap some really fantastic shots with his amazing Canon. Don't miss the dust-up between Paul Tracy and Sebastian Bourdais at the surprising end of the exciting race. A good time had by all.

The Tindol Motorsports cars arrive at MAC for dyno tuning. The team brought 2 of their 3 beautyfully prepared Mazda 6 SPEED Touring Cars, and 1 of their Mazda Proteges to our shop to tune the MOTEC Engine Management for altitude.

The 2.3L 4 cylinder naturally aspirated Mazda engine is competition equalized by throttle body restricter (to 50mm!), but very finely tuned with racing state of the art controls and preparation. Sorry, the power output is confidential.

In the right place at the right time. The MAC crew was witness to the melee between Paul Tracy and Sebastian Bourdais at the last turn of the last lap, 100 yards from the finish line, where the two came together contending for 2nd and 3rd in the race. N

Tindol's Espenlaub comes home 5th at the finish. The best improvement from grid to finish on a track that has very few places to pass. A great finish and a great drive by Charles.
